Large Half Plate 1850s Daguerreotype of ID'd Smith Children For Sale

Half plate daguerreotype of three siblings, identified with an original note that is dated October 28, 1854. Closed, case is 6" x about 4.75".

Plate looks foggy and/or tarnished with no seals and very light swipes. I cleaned the outside of the glass but did not touch it beyond that. I'm not sure if it can be restored/improved, so be prepared for the fogginess to be permanent. Returns accepted. Case is in nice condition, with light wear. Looks like the corners of the bottom rail are separating a bit, but it's not loose and is repairable. Both clasps are present, the spine is intact with no signs of repair.
