This is an authentic National Baseball Hall of Fame major league baseball that has been hand signed and inscribed with “HOF 2008” by Goose Gossage. He played in the MLB as a pitcher for 22 seasons, debuting with the Chicago White Sox from 1972-1976, and played with many other teams from 1972-1994. Gossage is a nine-time All-Star and a three-time AL Saves Leader. He won a World Series ring with the New York Yankees in 1978 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008. The Yankees honored Gossage with a plaque in Monument Park on June 22, 2014. The nickname \'Goose\' came about when a friend did not like his previous nickname \'Goss\', and noted he looked like a goose when he extended his neck to read the signs given by the catcher when he was pitching. Autograph obtained in person at a public signing by the seller. The ball is signed with a blue ballpoint pen and comes with a certificate of authenticity and numbered hologram from Jim and Steve’s Sportscard Shop.
