Amazing handmade fertility mask from Shen-Dam, Nigeria. The craftsmanship is meticulous and simply gorgeous. The wood is extremely thick in some parts and in other parts it’s carved thin and raised from the surface. Painted black in some areas and left natural in other areas.

This mask was made in 1948.
