Up for your consideration is a World War I German Helmet. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This helmet has been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. The helmet has a battle scar which I think adds to the mystic of this rare piece. It looks like the soldier wearing it took a butt stroke from a French or British soldier. There is a dent and a whole in the top of the helmet. My Grandfather said the old man he got it from said it was found in a no man’s land area after a battle.
