Vintage Kimball Pianos Advertising Poster. Measures 26 1/2 inches high X 21 inches wide. This is a genuine original factory cardboard poster used by dealers and exhibited at trade shows. It was used to demonstratethe features and benefits of Kimball's patented direct-action hammer design. It is in very good overall condition. A rare opportunity for musicians or collectors to own a limited distribution original factory advertising piece.
Kimball Piano Company was started in 1857 by William Kimball as a dealer, not a manufacturer. By 1877, Kimball began producing reed organs and built a factory to support that. Piano production began in 1888 and Kimball quickly rose to become one of the largest manufacturers of the period. In 1902 alone, Kimball produced nearly 22,000 pianos. Piano sales peaked in the 1960's and 70's. The last Kimball piano was produced in 1996.
