Vintage Chief L4, 4” Bench Vise With Pipe Vise, Anvil - Great Looking Vise.

Completely Restored, what a beauty.

Made in U.S.A. 4" jaws.

Opens up to about 5".

Condition: Used & Restored, 4" jaws are in good condition.

Jaw alingment is off a bit- it is very noticeable in the pictures - please see pictures.

Some scratches, normal wear shows appropiate age.

Weighs 17 lbs.

Measures 10 3/4" long x 6 1/4" tall.

Swivel base and anvil surface. Disassembled, sandblasted, cleaned & painted.

No repairs.

Lubricated moving parts before reassembling.

Pipe jaw insert incorporated. Swivel base rotates with ease and locks down tight.

Vise opens and closes with ease.

Jaws and anvil surface have scratches from normal use and a bit of corrosion .

Heavy duty well made bench vise by Littlestown Hardware & Foundry U.S.A.

Made between 1960s thru the 1970s.

Incorporated in 1916, the company was a major U S. manufacturer of bench vises. 

The company website has a video of vise production in 1950 and two scanned

catalogs. Now named Littlestown Foundry, the company produces aluminum castings.

The firm made the light-duty Chief No. L4 vise as

a private label product for retail chains.
