Vintage 1950s Large Terracotta Casserole W/Lid, Made In France, Country French. This is a big and beautiful French country casserole with no chips or cracks. It does show light crazing, primarily at the edges of the lid, pictured clearly in the last photo. The interior of the dish is glazed from one inch below the rim, pictured in the second to last photo. The interior of the dish and the lid both show light staining, pictured. The item measures 7.5" H (with lid on, with lid off, height is 5.5") x 11.5 D. The diameter of the lid is slightly larger than the pot at 12.25". The bottom of the dish is marked, "Made In France, 8". The 8 could indicate a capacity of 8 quarts. which looks about right. But, I will check the capacity and update. All I can think when I look at this beautiful dish is that it should be filled with cassoulet! Item will be shipped very carefully packaged. Please ask if you have any questions! Thanks for looking!
