VERY RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN \"BOY HIKER\" CANTEEN, c.1890

DESCRIPTION:Rare & unusual Boyco \"BOY HIKER\" canteen. Very similar to the Civil War style, with a canvas like cover. stitched around the edge on both sides as shown. 2 buckles on the side for connecting straps. Strap has been shortened and sides tied together as shown. Top has \"Boyco\" stamped on the screw-on top.

Measures about 7 1/4\" diameter x 2\" wide. Obviously used by a young hiker or camper, probably about 1890, before Boy Scouting was established. Must have come in very handy and he must have been very proud wearing it !!

A scarce early antique item, nice condition overall.
