Vintage Rare and Hard to Find Mid Century Modern "Black Velvet" Pattern Dinner Plate Fine Bone China Plates Designed by John Russell for Hostess Tableware (HT).After doing some research, I learned thatJohn Russell isprimarily known for his designs at Midwinter Pottery, where he created Midwinter “Riverside” and numerous other Midwinter designs in the 1960s.This retro mod Made in England pattern features black, brown, and white graphics and I believe it to be from the 1960s. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing and with only very minor surface scratches.
