Here we have a set of vintage / antique Aynsley demitasse cup and saucer set of 4. On bottom, all have a Royal Crown marked ANSLEY. Also marked BONE CHINA and ENGLAND. Each is numbered #33885. The first number looks like it was a 7 painted over with a 3. See all photos. Perfect condition. Very old set and well taken care of. No chips, no scrapes.No cracks. No gold or color loss.

This Aynsley bone china pattern has green bands and a gold overlay leaf pattern and intricate criss cross shapes. The particular shape of the cups are called "Coffee Can" but they are also known as "Demitasse" because of their small size. The demitasse cups were for sipping strong coffee such as Turkish or Espresso blends. They are great for Espresso! Half the size of a standard cup, they each hold3 oz. Height 2", diameter 2". Saucer is about 4 3/8" diameter, with a slight curve inward.
