Description/history of the order:Order of Maria Theresawas established by the Queen of Hungary and Bohemia Maria Theresa in 1757 during the Seven Years' War in honor of the victory over Prussiaunder Kolin and was intended only for rewarding the military. The first to be awarded was the commander of the Battle of KolinField Marshal Leopold Joseph Daun. In 1918, after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the last Emperor Charles I handed overthe right to award the order to the Order Council. In 1931, the last awarding of the order took place, after which the Council decidedthat no further awards will be made. The last holder of the order is the pilot of the First World War, Baron Gottfried von Banfield.
