For Sale we have a very nice and scarce Stanley Four Square Sweetheart Made in USA Folding Boxwood Ruler with Brass hardware and original factory finishes, The Four Square line of household tools were one of Stanley's most successful advertising campaigns during the 1920's. Finding items such as this rule in such good condition is rare. Folks were teased by Stanley with ads in major magazines of the day and literally waited for the next tool to be introduced in the Four Square line. The 1920's saw the rise of do it yourself work around the house and Stanley Tools led the way. For those on a thrifty budget, the professional line eluded most families, so a line of more affordable rookie household tools were added with great fanfare and stunning advertising and packaging. Stanley stunned the competition in the household game of marketing and proved to be the most popular brand in their day. Very collectible today, Stanley Tools still rule the tool world.
This is a scarce Boxwood Rule nowadays and is highly collectible, displaying nicely. The price reflects its rarity and cost to our collection. If it doesn't sell, it will go back into the collection.
