STIG LINDBERGforGUSTAVSBERGBowlFaience / Fajans (Swedish), glazed earthenware.
Various colors in the flower pattern that Stig used on many of his faience forms for Gustavsberg around this time - this shape, as all the forms of his - was designed by Stig and is unique to his output.
Designed by Stig LIndberg, produced by Gustavsberg (Sweden) - the star on the bottom identifies the Gustavsberg painter, the numbers represent the design.
These bowls were created mostly throughout the 1950's and were produced in two sizes; a small one approximately 6 inches long, and a large one approximately 9 inches long. This is the larger size. The flower design is an early classic motif that Stig used on these bowls and other faience forms during this period. Along with the "leaf" dishes (please see our other listing), these were some of the first art designs that LIndberg did for Gustavsberg.
Approximately9" long, 5 3/8" wide at widest spot, 3 1/5" highest spot, 2 1/4" lowest spot.
Excellent condition - no chips, cracks, stains, repairs or crazing. Please note at the tip, the exposed clay along the edge (another signature Stig motif) drops very slightly - it is not a chip or glaze skip, just a variation of this glazing technique.
