This is an Original WW1 Painted German Helmet M16-M18.The helmet is German, but it was used in the Bulgarian army.On July 18, 1936, the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III issued Decree №310, which approved the Ordinance-Law on PVHZ /Anti-Air
and Chemical Protection (ПВХЗ)/ of the population in the Kingdom. On
the basis of it, regulations and instructions for the protection of the
civilian population, material and cultural values in the Kingdom have
been developed, and the duties of the armed forces and the state
services have been ordered.
The 'gladiator' pattern helmets worn by the civilian Luftschutz (Air Defence) organization first appeared in 1938.
