REDUCED RARE 1953 Vintage GIRL SCOUT LEADER UNIFORM DRESS-HAT-PURSE-CALENDAR For Sale

Was $225. This is a Leader’s Uniform Dress and was introduced in the 1953 Catalog. It is a larger one, size 18. It says that this one piece model is “figure flattering”. ‘“It is Short Sleeved and is well tailored, with shirred back yoke” It has a 6 Gored Skirt for flare and comfort. The long side zipper was so the dress fits fashionably on the waist. It has a 4 Button Down Collar and Yellow Leader/Assistant ribbons and a USA Patch on the Shoulder. These uniforms were designed with the MAINBOCKER style and came with a white collar insert-it is a bit yellowed but it can be unstitched, bleached and sewn back in very easily. The Catalog says it’s made from lightweight broadcloth Material. There aren’t any holes or stains on this dress. There is plenty of material in this dress with the back pleats and extra material in the bust. The RARE Hat is a classic Brimmed style in green cotton Covert. It has a Dark Green grosgrain trim with a G.S. Insignia on it. The Hat has a few stains on the brim and the brim is stiff being I think it has cardboard in it. The labels are in pretty good shape. The Pins are the World Association Pin and Trefoil Pin with the 5 year pin attached by a chain. The Belt looks good in the front but the back has damage on it. The Purse is clean on the inside and the lock works well but as you can see in the pictures the seams on the lid are split showing the cardboard it covered. It’s still nice to display though. The Calendar is New without any writing or tears in it. This is a nice set of Items from the 50’s and would be great to have in a collection. I’ve had it in mine for over 40 years, away from the elements and smoke. Please see the pictures for Condition and Measurements. The true color of the uniform is closer in the 1st picture.
