RARE VIVIAN ALEXANDER FABERGE Imperial Caucasus Vintage Egg Purse For Sale

Vivian Alexander’s Imperial Caucasus references one of the Imperial eggs in the Matilda Geddes Gray Collection, which is now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is one of the earliest Vivian Alexander designs to reference Fabergé's work.

This egg purse stands 4” wide, and 6” tall and shows off a myriad of delicate golden ornaments against a lipstick red tinged with gold mica enameled background. The enamel itself has been scribed during application to create a linear pattern that encircles the purse.

There are four lockets that fill each quadrant of the body of the egg. They stand ready to be customized with four favorite photos!

Vivian Alexander, inspired by this legacy, produces the world's finest minaudières, using fine silver, guilloche patterns, translucent enamels, and point backed Austrian crystals, that produce unparalleled fire and brilliance in each stone unlike typical rhinestones that are flat backed, they are also prong set so they are rarely dislodged from their settings.
