As far as I can tell he was a member of the New York State Militia.

The cabinet card itself if 8x10 inches, shows age around the edges. Clearly was removed from a frame. It seems to have been in an oval cutout frame as there is an oval light toning over the photo.

The rifle with bayonet could be a Springfield or some other make, not sure, and the revolver could be a Colt model 1860.

The Black & White photo is somewhat faded from over the years, still a very nice example of a New York State Militia.

This Cabinet Card Photo is being sold as is, as shown.
