LISTED HERE A SPENDID RAILWAY DOCUMENT EAST GRINSTEAD STATION PROPOSED 1882 DRAWING LB&SCR contract drawings for the I882 buildings by T H Myres at East Grinstead Low Level, demolished in 1970. It was opened in July 1885 Swan Mead off the London Road, well-situated for the town centre, with the first train out at 12:12 pm. Constructed at a cost of £3,000, the station comprised a sandstone main building which survives to this day, as well as timber goods and engine sheds with slate roofs.
