Early 19th Century Native American(Plains Tribe)Dagger with a Buffalo Horn Handle and a Deer Bone Sheath.

The 7 1/2\" long blade seems to be a Bayonet dating from circa the Revolution period. The short handle (2 3/4\") is made of buffalo horn. The deer or elk bone sheath has a stitched leather base.

The dagger is in very good sturdy condition. The 1\" steel hand-made ferrule is tight, no blade wiggling or looseness. The horn handle is slightly worm damaged but completely solid. The sheath is cracked and brittle at the end. Very fine original patina throughout, not restored or cleaned.
