Excellent Condition - Unused

These are original menus from the first year the restaurant was open. The Wine List was printed a couple of years later and the blue color is lighter. Customers constantly took the menus and we were constantly having to reprint more menus until we created the oversize menus that were also sold as souvenirs.

A special fact that makes every item a unique part of sports history for the true collector.

Having opened Mickey Mantle?s Restaurant in 1988 with Mickey the most famous Yankee of his era and a hall of famer, I was involved as the General Manager for nearly 25 years. The restaurant immediately became a New York City landmark and attracted thousands of athletes, celebrities, politicians, movie stars, rock stars, and media personalities.Most importantly, it attracted the best sports fans from across the country and around the world.

Mickey truly enjoyed being in the restaurant.Many of Mickey\'s former Yankee teammates stopped by often to see him including Billy Martin, Whitey Ford, Moose Skowron, Hank Bauer, Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra.The restaurant also attracted all the great sports icons:Joe DiMaggio, Mohammed Ali, Joe Namath, and Michael Jordan; as well as an endless parade of mega celebrities including George Steinbrenner, President Donald Trump, Billy Crystal, Dustin Hoffman, and Robin Williams to name a few.

Although I met thousands of famous people who visited his restaurant, Mickey Mantle was my favorite athlete and celebrity of all time.Spending time with him was always fun.I\'d sit with him in his booth at the restaurant as he told stories about his baseball life.I watched him sign autographs for his fans, hug the women who wanted a picture with him, and put smiles on kids faces.For each person who idolized him, meeting him was a dream come true.
