Nostalgic Vintage Woolworth's Lunch Counter Flatware Spoon made by Royal U.S. For Sale

Woolworth's, or Woolworth & Co. was founded in 1879 as a '5 and Dime' store, and by 1979 had grown into a global department store chain. Woolworth's was large enough to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest department store chain. Before it's decline and dissolution in 1997, many Woolworth locations opened lunch counters that served warm food and soda pop to it's shoppers. If you were tired from shopping in the 1960's, you would have been given one of these die pressed steel spoons to enjoy your Woolworth lunch with! The dinner spoons themselves are a very simple design, and are stamped with the name Woolworth in it's iconic font on the handle.This listing is for ONE Vintage Woolworth's Branded In-Flight Flatware Spoon, pictured above. The piece was made by Royal U.S., between the years of 1950-80. The material is un-labeled, but most likely stainless steel.
