JNF GIGANT Tin Windup Toy Car with Electric Lights

and Original Paper Suitcase

SUPER RARE1952 PACKARD PAN AMERICAN SHOW CAR

Packard made six 1952 Pan American Show Cars for the auto showcircuit . That Show Car became the 1953Packard Caribbean convertible production car with slight changes to the grilland is a true classic today. This is the Grand Daddy of Tin Toys!

This remarkable toy isextremely rare and grand in scale. It was made by JNF JosefNeuhierl in Western Germany in the early 1950\'s. Thecar measures 11 1/2\" long. It is over 60 years old and in fantasticcondition. I am sure it was never playedwith. There is no key but it has thecharming ORIGINAL printed-paper suitcase that fits snuggly in the trunk abovethe battery case. You will never find that again! The suitcase is in near MINT condition!

The windup clockwork motor worksgreat. It has 4 forward speeds andreverse with shift levers on the dashboard. There is also another lever that I assume is for the headlights. It has battery powered electric headlightsthat appear to never have had a battery in the battery case. The case is clean with no scratches orcorrosion of any kind. I have never tried to put batteries in the car so I donot know if the bulbs work. To open the trunk to get to the luggage orbatteries, you push in one of the taillights and the trunk lid pops open.

The interior is in fantasticcondition with only one chip on the white steering wheel. The steering wheel operates the frontwheels. The only issue is with theplastic windshield which is missing the tabs that once held it in place on thebody. Years ago someone tried to gluethe windshield in place and you can see the glue on the body. I did not want to try to remove the glue forfear of damaging the paint job which is metallic blue and still very bright andshiny. With the windshield in place theglue is not visible and does not detract from the overall curb appeal. The only other condition issue is smallscratches on the hinge side of the trunk lid. Please see all photos to assessthe issues. The bottom is veryclean. The bumpers show some oxidationbut are still shiny and bright. Please see all the photos and use the zoom feature.

This JNF Packard has been n my collection for over 30 years. I have been collectingGerman windup cars for over 35 years and have never seen another JNF GIGANTanywhere much less in this condition. This toy will surely be the top prize for any collector.
