Gettysburg Soldier, Mortally Wounded July 3rd- Original Civil War Photograph:
$800.00

Original Civil War Tintype in a CDV sleeve, identified in period ink as "A.B. Neill," and determined by the noted author and collector Ken Turner to be Albert B. Neill, Co. K, 72d Pennsylvania Infantry.  Neill was mortally wounded at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863, during the repulse of Pickett's Charge.  This image was formerly in Mr. Turner's collection, and was featured in his excellent book, "The Civil War in Pennsylvania:  A Photographic History," co-authored by Michael G. Kraus and David M. Neville.

This item was initially sold a few weeks ago, but the buyer informed me he had encountered health problems and had to back out of the sale; hence the relisting. Guaranteed period image from a major Civil War Collection. Feel free to ask other questions.
