Vintage Garrard & Co Crown Jewelers Sterling Silver Winston Churchill 100 Year Commemorative Humidor - No 45/100

In 1974, Garrard & Co., the Crown Jewellers of London, created a centenary set of silver items (1874-1974) honoring the life of Sir Winston Churchill. Created in a limited edition of 100, may I offer the Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) humidor featuring the great man himself on the top of the lid. On the underside, clad in a light layer of yellow gold is a medallion bearing the Coat of Arms of the Churchill family. The Humidor (Sir Winston dearly loved his cigars) is Number 45 of 100 and stands 4-5/16\" high x 3-1/16\" wide. Weight is 382 grams. The silver container is in very fine condition with no dents or dings I can spot, just some light surface marks to the bottom. Designed by Sir Winston\'s nephew, John Spencer-Churchill and Alex Styles for Garrard. Sorry, no papers or box - just the container by itself. A wonderful estate find and sure to please anyone who admired the great English statesman. Original retail price (in dollars) was $1,520 (1974 Dollars) as you can see by the advertisement I was able to track down from Garrard. The last sale prices I could find for a similar box was $2,125 from Bonhams in London (2012) and $2,718 from Christies in London (2013). I think I can do a little better.
