French Table Lamp 1950s Postmodern Electrified Nautical Brass Candlestick OOAK For Sale

Exceptionally well done work electrifying this 1950s French heavy brass candlestick holder, making it a truly one of a kind table lamp!! Fantastic example of \"Postmodern Neoclassical\" ; color glass orbs bezel set on all (4) sides with a nod to the antique era nautical navigational lanterns. Standing 12\" with the sconce shade and having a hefty 5\" x 5\" square base, weighing in at just over 5 lbs.
Acquired from the Louisville KY estate of preservationist Sally Willis Meigs. Sally was thewidow of WWII ACE pilot & longtime Franklin Circuit Court Judge Henry Meigs II, and daughter of Kentucky’s 46th Governor Simeon S. Willis. She had a penchant for a classic \"high style\" with a touch of whimsy in every nook and cranny... AND she custom designed every detail of her homes, herself. Sally\'s favorite shopping destination was Paris, of course!
We don\'t know if a member of her house staff electrified the candlestick holder or a specialty lamp maker. We suspect she also had the bezel set glass orbs painted black since one of them has lost some of the paint, though it\'shardly discernible. The amber glass sconce shade is gorgeous, appears custom and is probably worth as much as the lamp itself. We believe it could easily be replaced should you choose to do so.
