This is a fossil from the world renowned Fossil Lake area located in the southwestern part of Wyoming. This area also is part of the Green River Formation covering a vast area extending out over several states. The fossil is a species called \"Mioplosus\". This is a nice one. The slab 5.5\"x7.5\". This fossil has some nice dark carbon color and great bone structure backbone looks disarticulated. It has a nice display of fins which more may be able to be prepped and nice scales. beauty of a fossil. This specimen would be great for a starter collection or it would make a beautiful wall hanging. The fossil dates back to the Eocene Period over 50 million years ago.
