Early 19th Century Eli Terry & Son Wooden Column Pillar Mantle Clock Plymouth CT For Sale

An early 19th Century Eli Terry & Son wooden mantle clock made in Plymouth, CT.The clock is not in working order.It measures 30\" tall, 18\" wide, and it is 4 1/4\" deep.The key turns as it should on the clocks face and raises both of the weights.When you turn the hands clock wise, the chime will ring out as it should.The weight on the left side does not work its way down. The one on the right side moves downward as the clock chimes.The clock face is handpainted with floral designs and both of the hands are with the clock.On the back side of the clock face is a signature that reads, \"repaired by J.B. Duke Aug. 1890\"There is a keyhole on the front door that is incised with ivory. There is no key for this lock.At the bottom of the door is a reverse painted glass panel. The glass has a crack in it and the paint has mostly faded away.The top part of the glass that shows off the clock face is in good condition.There is some veneer loss in the upper left hand corner of the door and on the left side of the piece.It has beautiful paw feet on the front side and recessed pilasters.The piece is in good condition for its age.It has the key to wind up the clock, two weights, and the pendulum.This item will be delivered in two boxes.(The weights will get shipped seperate from the clock)
