Classic Disneyland History from Saturday\'s Toys presents... a unique issue of the Disneyland Line cast member newsletter
Volume 18, Number 13 - March 27, 1986
Features a black & white cover image of Bambi\'s friend \"Thumper\" for this \"Happy Easter\" issue
Issue features a two-page photo essay on Disneyland\'s landscaping guru Bill Evans with Ken Inouye, then responsible for the park\'s greenery. Of particular note is the photo of the tall palm trees known as \"Phoenix Reclinata\" that came from the estate home of Cecil B. DeMille in the Laughlin Park / Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. The palms were originally placed in Adventureland before being moved to Tomorrowland during construction of Space Mountain. They were later moved to enhance a new design for the Autopia attraction in 2000. A rarely seen overview of Disneyland\'s landscaping back-story.
Also features many photos of cast members, and even a Weight Watchers article showing Mickey Mouse on the Weight Watchers scale!
Retirees included the Character Costume Division Manager John Keehne (1920 - 2010; brother of legendary Walt Disney Studio wardrobe head, Chuck Keehne) and Harry Charkowski (Sheet Metal Shop)
