It is a very beautiful plate that could decorate any table/wall or be a gift for a special occasion.

Beautiful an unusual Satsuma 13" plate, with many elements, probably late 19th century, Meiji Era (1868-1912).A big outline of white cherry blossoms ("sakura"), through a repeated geometric motif and highlighted enamels, surrounds a significant number of warriors dressed as samurai, who unexpectedly receive visits from others and enter into a fight, plus a female figure who try to leave the scene.The different elements are painted in relief, with beautiful enamels and a golden decoration that highlights all the images embodied.Several elements and signs speak of the place of the scene, it is notorious, but my knowledge and research are insufficient to describe in words the events that occurred or the historical moment painted.The ceramics and materials used are consistent with the period, also consistent with the texture and finish of the back of the plate.I could not determine a mark of the author on the front of the plate, it probably had a seal on the reverse (Kinkozan?) that could have been detached and lost.
