Antique Tiger Oak Herb / Pantry Box, Quarter Sawn Wood, Copper Lining, A Beauty For Sale

This is a great looking little box.
It\'s a small antique kitchen / pantry box made from quarter sawn oak (sometimes referred to as Tiger Oak or Mission Oak). The woodgrain is beautiful. The interior has a copper lining. I\'m told that the box was used for storing dried herbs. The interior still has a slightly spicy smell!
It wasmost likely made in the US sometime between 1880 and 1910.
The boxmeasures about 4 7/8 inches by about 4 1/4 inches. It\'s about 2 1/2 inches, tall with a slightly domed topI\'ve included a dollar bill in two of the photos as a good size and color reference.
It\'sin very nice condition, with light scuffs and dings - nothing distracting.I\'ve given the exterior and interior only a light cleaning. I leave it to the buyer to decide if they want to do further cleaning or restoration.
