Antique Victorian Pieced Cotton Quilt Late 1800s 84.5in by 81in For Sale

This beautiful pieced cotton quilt most likely dates to the late Victorian era (probably late 1800s or turn of the century) based on the fabric and construction. The piecing combined with the fabric colors of red, white, blue, and brown form a really striking quilt!

The quilt measures app. 84.5in by 81in, and there are app. 7 stitches to an inch. The quilting is dense, as seen from the plain muslin backing and forms beautiful, concentric diamonds/squares.

This quilt still presents beautifully and would be amazing for display, home decor, or study, although it does have some age-related flaws. There is a hole near one edge and a portion missing along one edge that go through all three layers of the quilt. (There may be some other, smaller holes as well- one pictured for reference).

Some of the top pieced material is shredding, there are some damaged areas to the binding, there are several areas of staining (in different shades) and foxing, most visible on the back although there is some present on the front, some areas of fading, pulls or fabric flaw on the backing, and a vintage/storage scent (but I don’t believe it to be overwhelmingly unpleasant). For all the issues listed above, some areas, but not all, are pictured for reference.
