Antique Turn of Century Wood Sign Peters Shoe Co. Diamond Brand St. Louis For Sale

This is a beautiful, 12.5” square historic wood sign advertising for Peters Shoe Company Diamond Brand Shoes. Based on hardware and age of sign and wood, this appears to be a turn of the century or early 20th century piece. It consists of 2 boards held together by old metal pieces on each side. There are 2 holes where rope may have gone to hang sign OR this was a former wood shipping box turned sign and the holes held rope?

The sign is stamped in black. The “Peters” word is most faded and somewhat obscured by holes.

Previous owner used some small circle pads on back so as not to rub against wall while hanging.
