Antique Dental Cabinet 1925 From IRELAND with Matching Lamp Base For Sale

An antique student locking dental cabinet from Ireland plus table lamp. Featured is a beautiful dental student’s cabinet (appears to be oak) manufactured by the “Elliott & Co., (EDIN) Ltd. Edinburgh. Newcastle-On-Tyne & Belfast”. Item opens at top with black leather padding under lid and filled with glass bottles and boxes of dental items plus instrument heads. Next are six pullout drawers with wood knobs filled with a few dental items. Dental cabinets were used by student’s in dental school to allow them to move from chair-to-chair with all of their instruments and attend to patients. Brass handle at top of cabinet and brass engraved place marked “W. Adair”. The cabinet rests upon (and can be removed) from an oak wood platform with four legs and slender brass stem to make a lamp (fully operational) with large ivory paper and cloth lampshade. Invoice enclosed of purchase of dental cabinet from Williamson’s Antiques, Glen Arbor, MI in 1996 for $795.00. Key to lock cabinet is present. It does have the locking rod which locks all the drawers. This was owned by William Adair, 54 English Street, Aronagh, N. Ireland. He got his degree on May 5, 1925. This will probably be shipped in two or three boxes; shipping will be less if Buyer does not want the Lampshade (although light weight, it will require a large box).
