A very Rare DARKE INDICATOR made by ELLIOTT Bros of London Patent No11413
similar version is on display In the Greenwich Maritime Museum.
This particular example No 565 dates from the mid 1800\'s
This. is boxed in its original wooden box and is as far as I can see complete even has the roll of paper for the read out.
\'\' The Simplicity of the Tabor system influenced Edward Darke of London whose minimalist design was patented in Britain in 1879.
Made exclusively by Elliott Brother\'s In \'small pattern\' the Dark patent High Speed Indicator had only one fixed pivoting a swivelling link connecting the piston-rod extension to the pointer bar.
The role of the other fixed pivot was taken by a vertical slot cut in a plate on the cylinder body.
