Antique Apothecary Gold Scale & Weight Set- in Original Wooden Case For Sale

This antique set comes from the estate of a jeweler who died years ago. The set was placed into storage after his death until now. The antique set comes in its original wooden case which contains a metal side label stating:  NY CITY APPROVED TYPE 17, SERIALY -2.  The scale consists of several parts some of which are attached to the box lid.  There is a center rod attached to the lid with a swivel dial at the bottom. The lid props open with a metal pin on the right side which rests into a slot in the lid. The balance bar with a needle pointer slides into the lid attached rod to create the system. There are two silver colored dishes with string attachments connected to the balance bar. There are 4 brass weights, as pictured-1 is missing. There is a cutout hole containing many small silver colored square grain weights. The brass weights are labelled 50, 20 and 2 of the 10 weights. The grain weights are various sizes and weights. The entire case closes with a push button on the front. This set is very old . You are buying AS IS.
