Ames Civil War Model 1860 USN US Naval Officers Cutlass Sword w/Scabbard-1861 For Sale

US Civil War Model 1860 USN Naval Cutlass with Leather Scabbard and Frog. The ricasso is faintly marked "Ames Mfg. Co." over "Chicopee." over "Mass", the reverse has "1861.", and the quillon area is marked "3 M" over "973". The grip and guard are tight. The leather grip is 95% complete. The knuckleguard cup is dented, very typical. The blade is unsharpened, several nicks, a little light pitting, and the last 1/8" has a slight bend.The leather scabbard is solid with tight stitching, pliable, surface loss throughout, belt hanger strap is complete, the leather inside is flaking, and it is missing the drag or the last roughly 1 1/2" of leather at the bottom. Washer is missing. The scabbard and frog are possibly late war replacements. Length of the blade is 26" (1 3/16" wide x 5/16" thick), the sword is 31 7/8", and the scabbard alone is 24 1/2".
