M1860 USN AMES CUTLASS WITH LATER BANNERMAN SCABBARD. CUTLAS MARKED M18 99 IS SERIAL # FOR 18,099. MARKED WITH THE AMES SCROLL MAKERS MARK OF CHICOPEE MASS. RICASSO MARKED USN D.R. 1862 (D.R. FOR DANIEL REYNOLDS INSPECTOR\'S MARK) ALSO D.R. ON THE POMMEL. THE SCABBARD IS NOT THE ORIGINAL RIVETED CLOSURE. IT IS THE STITCHED SCABBARD MOST PROBABLY MADE BY BANNERMAN.
