2 Vtg ALVAREZ Mexico Folk Art Hanging CLOWNS
Set of two vintage jewel-toned molded paper mache clownsHand made and painted in Mexico, the seated clown is signed by the artist, Alvarez, on his behind.The first is a clown hanging on to a \"floating\" balloon, which measures approximately 24\" total (13\" tall by 5\" wide, clown only, plus middle string and 6.5\" balloon)The second is a clown that was originally sitting on a hanging rope trapeze, which was a simple silver-colored bar, but was missing when I purchased the set. I have threaded a gold-toned elastic string through the holes, just for photos. This clown measures approximately 9\" by 6\" by 5\"
This set of clowns is in very good vintage pre-owned condition. There is minor paint loss throughout - mostly on the balloon - shown in photos.
