2/4 Mills slot machine “alibi” award card Castle Front, Roman Head, War Eagle:
$9.99

We located a few ofthese in a shoe box & our research shows it is for the Castle Front, WarEagle, FOK, & other “Silent Series” slot machine of the early1930s.We didn’t understand why some pay cards are a 3/5 pay andsome are 2/4 but we were told by those who have helped us clarify things thatwhen the War Eagle was first issued with an escalator some of the old timeoperators didn’t want to switch to the new 3/5 thinking. So Millsmade a few machines with a 2/4 pay so as not to lose a sale. The oddlooking numbers such as 9 to 11were because if the pay slides became wornthe machine sometimes would short the pay a coin. It never over paid with 11 but if shorted thepay, the card alibied the situation for customer. This appears to be old onheavy card stock although we are not experts so we will not define one way orthe other. But if you have this machine missing the paycard or the one you have is not in good condition, this is what you need.We do have several old slot machines we located in this abandoned rentalstorage unit & are now displayed in our office. Those machinesare old never restored originals & the way they came off location wherethey were used.As near as we can tell, this card is exactlythe same as those on the machines we have. Some cards we found are alittle darker or lighter as time & chemicals in the paper can be a factorbut none are faded or undesirable. If you have one of theseantique slot machines missing the pay card or the one you have is in poorcondition, this is what you need at a very reasonable price.

These quality issued cards we found instorage are printed on a heaver card stock paper exactly like the originals wehave on several complete machines we also found in storage. We don’t know if they are original new oldstock or issued later. But again, we cantell you they are the same as on the old unrestored complete machines wehave.

Unfortunately, recently we had a cowardrslotwith a vendetta because wedidn’t want to sell him some items at this time that we found that might fit orgo with some machine we found in this storage unit. With his vendetta& immediately after he received the card he left us a negative responsesaying low quality which they are not.If it were true any real manwould have said something first & we would have given a refund with nohesitation. He did none of that.We could call andhave the negative removed but that can take hours on the phone to get throughto a tech in the Philippines that hires & if you are lucky enough todo, sometimes hard to understand their English skills. So we justdecided to wear the negative as a badge of honor & needless to say, if notto your satisfaction just return your purchases like a man & not apuke. But again, these cards are on heavy quality stock identical towhat Mills issued.
