1976 Official New York Yankees American League Championship Ring
Manufactured by Balfour
10 Karat, 19 Diamonds
In 1976, the Yankees defeated the Royals to claim the AL Pennant. This was George Steinbrenner's first Championship and he celebrated in true Yankee fashion by sparing no expense. This gorgeous oversized ring was a novel design for its time and it was presented to one of the The Boss's lead scouts (and former Major Leaguer) Frank O'rourke. This style has been copied and emulated by nearly every championship ring since 1976! This is not a 'salesman's sample' or inferior office ring; it's the real deal and built to the same specs as Berra's and Munson's!
Nineteen diamonds make up the "NY" Yankee logo set in a blue stone on the face, outlined by"Yankees American League Champions" in bold text. The left shank features the classic bat and hat logo with "O’Rourke" and "Pride." The right shank features Yankee Stadium with the year “1976” and the word "Tradition." Of course, the interior band is stamped "Balfour 10K".
