1958 Tony Cuccinello Game Worn Chicago White Sox Jersey With COA Rare Flannel:
1958 Tony Cuccinello Game Worn Chicago White Sox Jersey.
A superb infielder and lifetime .280 hitter, Tony Cuccinello of the White Sox lost the 1945 American League batting title to Snuffy Stirnweiss of the Yankees by .000087 of a percentage point, in the closest batting race in Major League history. He retired as a player following the season.
The road gray flannel jersey has a seven-button-down front and "Chicago" sewn across the chest in original midnight navy tackle twill, with the correct MacGregor manufacturing tag and "1958" flap tag in the tail. The number "2", which appears on the back and right sleeve, is the incorrect number which was common for jerseys of this age to be reused by other players for the period. Remnants of the "33" are still visible. The inside also has a cigarette pouch.
The winning buyer may want to consider restoring the original number "33" or simply removing the number "2" and displaying as is. LOA from Heritage sales.
