1934 CHICAGO WORLDS FAIR LOT OF 3 FAIR PROGRAM BOOKS 2 HAVE UNUSED MAILING ENVELOPES

These books of Worlds Fair pictures were part of our huge Worlds Fair and Exposition Collection. We mostly collected 1933/34 and 1939/40 items but also have many pieces from much earlier to much later Fairs. We offered the entire collection as a buy it now on with no takers and have since decided to piece it out. My husband, seller named Jal12147 and I will continue to list the pieces till it’s all sold.

Here are three books of pictures that were sold as souvenirs at the 1934 Chicago Worlds Fair, the Century of Progress. One has color photos and two are black and white. The color photo book is in good condition. One book of black and white photos is in very good condition and one is in pristine condition. Two have mailing envelopes that were never used.

The first book is “Official Pictures in Color 1934 A Century of Progress”. It measures 11” wide and 8-1/2” high. The book is spiral bound with a black leatherette cover. There’s a hole in the cover centered on the title page picture. This book has 32 pages. The basic condition is good but there’s some dark staining on the title page and a few of the back pages. The upper right corner has the same water mark on about half of the pages. I believe the book encountered some water many years ago and the water caused the dye in the cover to run. The pictures are not affected at all and the book itself is in good condition. Please check the pictures. The photos are by Kaufman & Fabry Co., the official fair photographers. It was printed in the USA by Neely Printing of Chicago.

The second is “Official Pictures of the 1934 Worlds Fair 25c” . There is an illustration on the cover signed by Lyford. This book is 7” wide by 10” high. It’s all black and white and there are 32 pages of photos. This one has an unused mailing envelope with it. This one is in very good condition. It is very clean with no discoloration or staining.

The third one is titled “Souvenir Book - 1934 Worlds Fair Chicago”. This book also has 32 pages of black and white photos. It measures 6-1/2” wide by 9-7/16” tall. This book also has an unused mailing envelope with it. This one is in exceptional condition and doesn’t appear to ever have been used. It’s very colorful and bright and the pages are pristine. It was produced by Curt Teich & Co., Inc., Chicago. It was produced by the C T Artgravure-Green process.
