1920s antique Marathon Guilloche Enamel Compact Vanity Case Art Deco Tango For Sale

Fabulous 1920s signed MARATHON vanity case compact on original chain handle.It is peach enamel with a center guilloche cartouche that has pink rose on white background with black border.The case is a rectangle with domed pecked top that has finial latch closure.The metal sides and chain are white and interior is goldplated.Inside there are original rouge and powder compartments with puffs, and tiny lipstick compartment too.The mirror has a crack at the top below the finial latch, but otherwise it is nice and clean.The case is 3-1/2\" high and 2\" wide and 1/2\" thick. The chain is 10\" long with 5\" drop.The peach enamel has a finely crackled surface, I am not sure if from age or if originally was slightly textured. There are only the very tiniest spots where this peach enamel is worn right at edges, barely noticeable. The guilloche cartouche is perfect and case overall is solid 9 out of 10. Displays beautifully.
