Rare! 100 grams (approx 3.52 oz) of star sand beach sand from Okinawa Japan.
This is 100% natural sopieces of seashells and corals, dried seaweeds, broken star sand, natural beach sand, etcare mixedin the package and it smells like sea water(not a pleasant smell for most people!). Each piece of star-shaped grain is very tiny(about 1-2mm). Please do not expect to receive \"ONLY\" star-shaped grains in it. We are trying very hard to sort out as many star-shaped grains as possible by using a strainer, but perfect star-shaped ones are like less than 30% of it.It also include some sun sand (Calcarina).

What is star sand?
Star sand is a biogenic sand made of skeletons of tiny, mono-celled sea creatures belonging to the foraminifera group. This rate type of sand is only found in very specific location in the world.
Legend has that star sand brings happiness, leading many people to treasure it as a lucky charm.

We are delighted to offer star sand collected from the pristine Hatoma Island in Okinawa. Once a year, the school children of Hatoma Elementary and Middle School, consisting of only 13 students on the island, along with their parents, teachers, and community members, gather the star sand to raise funds for school activities through its sale.

Following the sand collection, a meticulous process unfolds. Over the course of a month, the sand is thoroughly washed, sun-dried, and meticulously sorted to isolate the enchanting star-shaped grains.
