THE LAST PRECIOUS FEW PIPES
After listing my pipe collection on , itβs time to part with the favorites - my Ashtons by Bill Taylor, my Ferndowns by Les Wood, and a few other high end pieces. Any of these that donβt sell, I will gladly keep.
RARE π¬π§ 1983 Ashton OS (oversized) Billiard pipe with nice 360Β° ring grain in the pebble grain finish. Genuine First Year of production Bill Taylor made in EXCELLENT/ near MINT CONDITION
From 1983-2005 The Ashton Pipe company creator Bill Taylor made WONDERFUL looking and incredible English briars that are so fabulously good smokers, thus highly collectible to this day.
Aston continues with Jimmy Craig who trained under Bill so Ashton quality continues to this day. But we Ashton fans know that Bill Taylor Era pipes are special.
This pipe is dated 1983 - First year for Ashton- and relief / ring grains are reasonably rare. STILL IN ORIGINAL SLEEVE.
In addition, this is the fairly rare OS (oversized) Billiard. But still it weighs only 1.65 ounces.
The Relief grain of the pipe is outstanding. Check out the grain on all sides the bowl and shank. Dunhill would be jealous! It has a deep black ashtonite stem. There are no scratches, dents, shop wear, rim char, excessive cake and teeth chatter.
Its dimensions are:
LENGTH: 6"
HEIGHT: 2β
WIDTH: 1-1/2β
CHAMBER DIAMETER: 13/16"
WEIGHT : 1.65 oz
(making it about a Dunhill group 5-6)
