This is an authentic major league baseball that has been hand signed and inscribed with “81 Cy Young” and “HOF 92” by Rollie Fingers. He played in the MLB as a pitcher for 17 seasons, debuting with the Oakland Athletics from 1968-1976, and played with two other teams from 1977-1985. Fingers is a seven-time All-Star, a three-time MLB Saves Leader, a four-time Rolaids Relief Man award winner, the AL MVP and AL Cy Young award winner in 1981. He won three consecutive World Series rings with the Oakland Athletics in 1972, 1973 and 1974, also earning the World Series MVP award in 1974. Fingers had his No. 34 Milwaukee Brewers jersey retired in 1992 and his No. 34 Oakland Athletics jersey retired in 1993. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1992, elected to the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995, the San Diego Hall of Champions in 2000 and the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. Fingers was also famously known for his neatly groomed handlebar mustache. Autograph obtained in person at a public signing by the seller. The ball is signed with a blue ballpoint pen and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity from Jim and Steve’s Sportscard Shop.
