RARE ADVERTISING PAPER WEIGHT NEW ORLEANS LA. LOUISIANA COAL MERCHANTS TUG BOAT For Sale

Circa 1880's. Very rare, early and graphic advertising paperweight. Tons of advertising on this piece. B. D. WOOD & BROS./ COAL/ MERCHANTS/ TUG WM WOOD/ TUG CHARLIE WOOD/ graphic picture of tug boat/ NEW ORLEANS, LA. / STEAMERS/PRESSES/AND/ PLANTER'S/ SUPPLIED. The word COAL is stamped 12 times around the edge of the paperweight. No chips or cracks. The only issue is a spot that I have shown in my last picture. I don't know what it is. It is smooth to the touch, and looks like a manufacturing defect, but it is there. Could be a bubble pop when the glass was blown. The dark spot next to it is only a shadow of that defect. There are a couple of other darker spots in the glass, but they are trash particles that were in the glass when the paper weight was made. They are not chips or dings, and they are not on the surface. They are within the glass. There is also a maker's mark within the glass, on the base, but I cannot make out the name. One, exactly like this one. sold on a while back for a buy it now price of $1299.00. You can look it up for yourself. This one will be priced much lower because of the defect in the glass, and because I got it for a good price. Returns only if not as described. Pictures are the main part of the description. Just noticed, on one of the side pics, the round spots are bubbles within the glass, not on the surface.
