This is an authentic major league baseball that has been hand signed with a blue ballpoint pen by Jimmy Piersall. He played in the MLB as a center fielder for 17 seasons, debuting with the Boston Red Sox from 1950-1958, and playing with four other teams from 1950-1967. Piersall is a two-time All-Star, a two-time Gold Glove recipient and he inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2010. He was widely known for his well-publicized battle with bipolar disorder. Autograph obtained in person at a public signing by the seller, prior to his unfortunate death on June 3, 2017. The ball comes with a photo, a certificate of authenticity entrance ticket and a numbered hologram from Steven’s Collectibles.
