Curt "Clank" Blefary (1943-2001) was a left-handed hitting outfielder, 1st baseman, and 1965 A.L. ROY, who played 8 seasons in the majors for the Orioles (1965-1968), Astros (1969), Yankees (1970-1971), Oak. A's (1971-1972), and Padres (1972). He hit .237 in 974 games, with 112 HRs, and 382 RBIs. Blefary was the A.L. ROY in 1965, hitting .260, with 22 HRs, and 70 RBIs. He had 3 seasons of 20+ HRs (1965-1967-all with the Orioles, with a career high 23 in 1966). After the 1967 season, Blefary's career began going down-hill, though he did have a career high 81 RBIs that season. He played in the 1966 W.S., and 1971 ALCS, hitting .071 in 5 games. He later suffered from pancreatic cancer, and passed away from the disease at age 57 on 1-28-01.
