Covington 40's Miami Beach Geometric Mid Century MOD Barkcloth Vintage Fabric For Sale

Miami Beach was notorious for its Art Deco movement that swept the world in the 20's and 30's...and it was such an influential movement that became so iconic that Miami Beach seemed to miss the mid century period...I mean not really...but it wasn't celebrated so much as the deco era that triggered tremors from here to Shanghai. But as much as some of the intoxication of the mid century movement was lost in Art Deco...there were still many remaining visions I was lucky enough to take in when I was crawling through boarded up hotels in South Beach circa 1989. It was unbelievable that the hotels were boarded up with all the contents inside...but it was a common occurrence in Miami Beach where hotels were being forced closed due to decline and structural issues at a time when money wasn't flowing anymore to the city. I was able to see Art Deco styles mixed with period mid century styles...often times Art Deco draperies adorning windows and chairs and bedding in a mid century atomic print. It is today a style I've created from my own memories in my own Florida mid century bungalow!
This offering is for ONE unused unwashed remnant of a fabulous mid century beauty with Miami Beach written all over it!! I have yardage of this and am cutting it down to remnants that measure 47 inches wide x approx. 80 inches long. I have 4 available being sold individually. A mocha ground with some mocha leanings towards pinky chocolate...atomic geometrics in shell pink...aqua green...chino...dark chocolate...with black and white accents and a unheard of gold metallic premier design atop that is just so damned SWANK it has my head spinning. A interesting cotton/mohair mix with a texture very much feeling like mohair. The selvedge reads "COPR MCMLVI Covington Fabrics Corporation a Fully Guaranteed Print". Flawless.
